NUTRITION IN CHILDREN

For most parents, making sure that their children eat healthy is a bit of a headache. With both parents working in most families, health-conscious parents are finding it more and more difficult to ensure that their children follow a healthy diet.

It is a smart idea to start training kids about food and healthy eating as soon as they can talk and understand things. The preschool years are when children are most influenced by their families. Nutrition and children is also a topic that should be dealt with in schools. For kids, healthy eating is extremely important as it boosts both physical and mental development.

VOMITING IN CHILDREN

Vomiting in infants is fairly common, and it’s because of various reasons:

  • Excessive feeding
  • Upset stomach or diarrhea
  • Ear infection
  • Infection of the urinary system, the appendix, chest or throat
  • Undue stress

There are various ways in which vomiting in children can be treated. Some of these common treatments are:

  • Rest and plenty of water
  • Avoiding milk products as they can cause further nausea
  • Oral rehydration solutions

SKIN CONDITIONS IN CHILDREN

Some common skin conditions in children are acne, athlete’s foot and lice. These are worrisome from a self-image point of view, but they are low-risk conditions from a medical point of view. These conditions can be treated with over-the-counter medication. Hives and ringworm, on the other hand, might require more specific prescription drugs to treat and cure

SLEEP PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN

Sleep problems in kids can be troublesome, because it’s extremely important for children to get plenty of rest. While the exact amount of sleep necessary for normal development varies, a normal schoolchild should sleep at least 8-10 hours a day.
